ESA President fights fiction with fact
Video game critics often justify their arguments for regulation with broad emotional appeals and by inventing non-existent problems.
Archie Carroll, a columnist for the Athens Banner-Herald, continues this tradition by claiming that the video game industry thrives off of selling mature video games to children.
Luckily, behind every video game myth, there’s a fact. In his latest op-ed piece, ESA President Michael Gallager debunks the common gaming myths purveyed by Carroll and other video game critics.
Gallagher points out that mature video games only account for 17% of all video game titles, and that the Federal Trade Commission lauds the entertainment industry for its own enforcement mechanisms and comprehensive ratings system.
Get the facts and read Michael Gallager’s full op-ed piece.
